Dublin experienced rapid growth in the 1700’s and the medeival city was cleared to make way for large broad streets and squares. Known as Dublin Georgian Architecture, because most of the development occurred between 1714 and 1830, a period when four King George’s ruled on the throne. If you are in Dublin City Centre, you will not miss streets and squares lined with Georgian doors like the two above.
Our Georgian Mansion tour brings you to some of the finest Georgian homes outside of Dublin such as Kilruddery House, home to the Earls of Meath and Russborough House built in 1741, and home to the famous Beit art collection. On to the largest Palladian Mansion in Ireland, Castletown House is considered one of the most important houses in Ireland and is of significance in terms of European architectural heritage.
